S&W revolvers

Where can we get this done?

I have 2 four inch guns that need to become 3 inch.

Is there a gunsmith in central NC that I should be contacting?

why?! just get another one

Cool! Thanks! When do you wanna come pick up my rough 4 inch farm truck Smiths to trade me your 3 inch ones? My schedule is quite flexible! That's so kind of you to offer!

I’ll be happy to take care of it for you. I need the practice. 😉

There is a company up north, I think it is Hellfire guns or firearms that does the barrel conversions and anything else you want in addition. I had one of his conversions and his work is great and prices were reasonable several years ago.

I’m thinking of opening a Gunsmithing business,

Mohel Barrel Works. 🤓
😂😂😂 Gotta keep the bore free from obstruction.

Appreciate the heads up!

I've already got one in 4 inch though. At that price it's awful tempting to own a second one as well!

I have a little bit of a bug right now for 3 inch guns. I was able to pick up a 65 three inch a while back but would like to have a 66 3 inch as well. I have a 629-1 with a 4 inch, and same deal, would love to have a 3 inch to go with it.

I bought a S&W 65 that was cut/crowned from 4" to 3".

I like just about any 3" revolver.

Great looking gun. Looks similar to one I sold about a year or so ago. On the 65 I sold, the gunsmith had done a really nice job bobbing the hammer and the crown work was really good. They moved the original front sight back. You may not have even noticed it was shortened , if not for looking at the writing on the barrel.

I have a 4” model 10 heavy barrel that I would like to be a 3” - how hard is it to put a proper height front sight back on it ?

The heavy barrel is is straight so there will be no figuring for proper height. It can either be dovetailed or you probably have enough to drill and tap one on
