Saturday, SATURDAY, S!A!T!U!R!D!A!Y!!!!!!!!!

For those of you making your first trip to Midsouth, don’t try to see everything in one trip unless you have at least 2-3 hours. Inventory is not 100% after the panic, but im guessing maybe 80%. But I promise you will be amazed not only at the number of guns, but the variety.

Been trying to shake the lawyers all day with no success, and they have me tied up tomorrow as well. Y’all have fun!

Sorry I didn't make it today. I didn't sleep well last night and took a little nap that lasted well into the afternoon! Also, the new meds are messing with me.

The shop was amazing. If I hadn't just bought a motorcycle.... It was nearly like a museum. That was tough to walk out empty handed.

Y'all need to wear name tags though :)
We forgot our name tags today, and regret it. Maybe next time! I walked out empty handed too, decided to see if prices drop a bit more.

Great meeting some of the good folks of this forum. The more people I meet the more I understand it's more than a forum. Mid South was well worth the drive too! Too bad I spent my lunch money....
it's my day off, but the money reason is why i didn't drive the short distance.
that and because i had stuff around the house i had to get done...

Surely someone bought something, let's see some pictures.
You know damn well I ain't made No dry run!!!! ITsa secret!!!

Takeaway from today as far as stories go was.....Honey, come home there's a snake in the Garage!!!!! Followed by....DO NOT SHOOT!!!!! She was a Cutie Pie too!

@303hunter twisted my arm and forced me to purchase this old rifle. ;) It's a Revelation Model 225 (Savage 340) in 30-30 Winchester. It came with a 4X fixed Leupold scope that is crystal clear. I think I did ok ($260)??. It will make a great carry gun for my 4-wheeler. From what I've read it was mfg. in 1968 for Revelation by Savage Arms. Revelation was the store brand for Western Auto stores who faded away in the late 1980's. The barrel is 20" and after cleaning it up it looks pretty decent. All of the screws on the rifle and on the scope mounts and rings are clean without any marks. It's like it has never been taken down. I ran a patch through the barrel and it looks nice and shiny with no pitting. I put the word out to some of my friends and they have donated a few bullets and brass so I ordered some dies tonight. Loaded ammo is as scarce as hen's teeth. One outfit online was selling Remington Core-Lok (green and yellow box) 150 grain for $55.00!!!o_O It was cheaper to just buy a set of dies! Luckily I have plenty of powder and primers.

Had a great time today and enjoyed meeting everyone and hopefully we can do it again sometime.

I did find something I've been looking for for the past few years... World War era 1911...found this 1919 Colt 1911. I can pretty much die now (after I shoot it at least once). I HAD to ask...no regrets.

If you hadn’t bought it, I would have! A very interesting rifle.

It was a pleasure meeting you guys today. Wish I had been able to spend more time bullshitting, but when I walked in around 11, they were overwhelmed with customers and I got recruited working. Did have the pleasure of helping @Group23 with his purchase of the beautiful 1911. I’m very lucky that my job makes it possible to visit Midsouth 2-3 times a week and while I am sure that the first time visitors were amazed at what they saw, @BatteryOaksBilly and I have seen his inventory probably close to double what is there now. It’s truly an amazing place.

The 6.8 is my primary deer caliber now. I'm down to one box of the S&B 110 gr PTS and everybody is out of stock. I bought the S&B FMJ today for more brass. I have a couple of boxes of the CBB 105 gr MKZ's and I need to work up a load for them.

Knowing you as well as I do, this is what I expect.

I didn't see a Single long gun in the building.......I'm blind when on a mission. I would have bought that in ONE second!

Ya done good!

Oh I forgot to mention...Yesterday @Jeppo handed me a pistol and said try the trigger....it was very good. Very good indeed for a striker fired gun. The only problem was that it would make a Hi Point 9 look like a Colt Custom Shop Engraved 1911.
;) :(🙋‍♀️

Not gonna do a thing to it, except clean it well and put it up! I did have a ceremony for it last night involving baby backs and 15 yr bourbon!
Put it up? Put some ammo through it! It was made to be shot. You won’t hurt anything by shooting the snot out of it. As long as you don’t drop it on concrete, you can enjoy it while it goes up in value. Please don’t let me know if you gonna stick it in a dark old safe. I might be forced to repossess that fine weapon

A short note...yesterday, one of our Alumni was in an armed robbery attempt. He was accosted by 2 men with a stun gun at a car wash. It was early on Sunday so there was only him and the 2 men.
Our man was in Yellow because he has come to learn that when outside his compound this must be his way of life. Because he was in Yellow it was a simple transition to Orange. Once "they" were aware he was armed they left the area. Our man was smart to think perhaps they had gone for a better weapon or Back-Up. He left.
He has his possessions and perhaps his life because he had trained to protect himself and his family. We love to hear of success from "our people". Remember what our range shirts say...Be Kind...Be Polite...Be Alert...You May Have To Shoot The Next Person You See.
