At the gun show and all the gun shops. Seems everywhere I go I'm noticing there is going to be a good supply of SCCY on hand. I look up reviews and the biggest complaint I find on them is that the trigger pull is long and not very good. Other than that most say they work and work well. I did find a few that say they don't cost enough . That they would not trust their life on a gun that cost under $600. I did pick up a few at the gun show and the trigger pull did not seem that bad for a double action gun.
Anyway, Just asking. Anybody own, owned or shot SCCY 9 mm? Ok or no??

As has been mentioned on here ad nauseum....@Geezer and I had two that we tried to tear up. 1,200 rounds through one without a single malfunction and 900 through another with the same results. The triggers feel like a Really good S&W K Frame revolver.
I have had and sold to folks that wanted an inexpensive gun that Works at least 8.
All that is the good news.....the Bad news is I have been trying for 6 months to get the new SCCY striker fired gun. It's advertised in Every gun book and all over YT...Still none available...not a single one on Gun Broker. I intend to buy the first one I see so I can have personal knowledge of that platform. If they run like the originals....I'll take 6!

@BatteryOaksBilly and I put a couple of SCCY's to the test. They passed with flying colors. For anyone that has shot a double action revolver, the trigger will seem familiar. The trigger is long, like a DA revolver, but it's smooth all the way through. Don't try to stage the trigger, just pull it all the way through.

Edit: Looks like Billy and I posted at the same time.

Had one for a couple years. Traded it for a S&W bodyguard. I regretted the trade. Couldn't wait to dump the Smith. The Sccy was more reliable, as the bodyguard was ammo picky. Never had a failure in my Sccy. Probably had 1k or so through it when I traded it.

These were issued to the UC 5th Circuit Court DEU unit as back up guns.
I saw 3 here...1 worked....for a while.....they took them all back from the LEs they were issued to. Bad JuJu.

Took a friend shooting yesterday and she shot the SCCY. She shot it pretty well. We dry fired the gun about 20 times to get her acclimated to the trigger. Once she figured out the sights and trigger, she could hit an 8" plate at 20 yards pretty regular.PXL_20210517_233020432.jpgWe shot about 75 rounds without a single issue with the SCCY.

Looked at 3 at the gun show. One had a very long trigger pull. The other 2 seem to have about half the pull.
At one local (the high dollar) gun shop both the cpx 1 and cpx 2 is advertised for $250. But out of stock. At the gun show and at two other local gun shops they are up to $370. Can't figure out what the difference is. But I do know some come with a dot sight.

So I was able to take my CPX-1 out today. Only got to shoot one mag out of it so take this as a fast review.
As said by others the trigger pull is long but it really wasn’t that horrible. Fits in hand very well (I have medium hands) and I think that really helps while pulling the trigger. The CPX-1 has a safety. If you pull the trigger while it’s on you just get this mushy feel and obviously doesn’t fire. Fired all rounds without issue and I was surprised at how well it grouped at about 15 yards. Sights were easy for me to see.
the bad and the only reason I may think about getting rid of it. The safety is protected a little by a ridge under it. I imagine this is to stop people from engaging it without meaning to either while drawing or firing. After a few shots I could tell this was rubbing my thumb something fierce. I would almost guarantee that if I shot 50 rounds my thumb would be bleeding at the end. Maybe I can do something about that but if I was gonna buy again I would for sure get the one without a safety. My 2 cents for what it’s worth.

Have had one a few years. It does what it is intended to do. The trigger is not bad but you have to know it's a longer double action going in. Sometimes that's better than a light trigger especially if the adrenaline is flowing or you just pop it in a pocket. A good use of $200.

They could be had for less then $200 pre pandemic. I had taken a zigzagged road trip up to Alaska a few years ago and wanted to have something with me. Instead of having to deal with Canada I just brought a cpx2 with me and sold it to a dealer in Washington before crossing the boarder. I have sense bought and sold a second one. Both were fairly accurate and completely reliable.

It's not my favorite and Ive upgraded to things I like more but I wouldn't hesitate to grab another one if I had a good reason to.

Well, I've decided I would like to have a SCCY 9mm. And, I would go out and get one today. If I could find some ammo at a reasonable price. But I'm Not paying the Rediculous prices so the gun will have to wait.

Suggestion for new owners: Do not put in aftermarket springs that are supposed to make the trigger pull easier. I did that with mine and while it made the pull easier, it also made the hammer strike lighter and about every other round would not fire. After much messing around with springs I went back to a new set of OEM's and had no more trouble. The fat grip didn't suit me much so I sold the gun to a friend. He loved the Red Dot on it.
