SEU-eeeee!

Who doesn't want to gear up like you're about to raid the bin laden compound every single chance you can?

Even though I had to do it once or twice, I never looked forward to doing so.

Yet, I can see no reason, if the weather was as described, that the residents could not have been allowed to sit in a police vehicle as the search took place. Sadly times have changed, since I was on the job.

Because the story would have read they were stuffed in a cop car for no reason.

I have no sympathy when due to their criminal scum of a family some people are inconvenienced. But why do they automatically hide behind the kids and blame the cops?

Article 1, Section 9

"No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed."

Basically, in a Free Society, it is the individual who is held responsible for and accountable to their actions, not the group to which they belong, nor their family who suffer for acts committed by an individual.

Applying your argument, then punishing, well, "inconveniencing" all gun owners for Sandy Hook or Vegas is a-ok in your book.

Or all cops for that matter.

It is always painfully enlightening when you opine about the way things ought to be......and it's hardly recognizable as American in origin.

-and-

Article 1, Section 12

“No bill of attainder, ex post facto law, nor any law impairing the obligation of contracts, shall ever be passed, and no conviction shall work corruption of blood or forfeiture of estate.”

Where do you get that someone was punished. They were temporarily and mildly inconvenienced while the house was cleared. Or are you suggesting they be left in the fire zone while they searched for an armed robber.

They were going to try and arrest a person who was wanted for armed robbery, who being the rocket scientist he must be, left behind evidence with name and address at the place he robbed. Armed, wanted idiots have been known to hide in houses of family members. Should they go after him with flowers???
Look what happened where I work last October, the cops went to serve a warrant to a child molesting Piece of crap, the piece of craps, piece of shit Dad opened fire on them and shot 7 cops killing 2 of them, they didn't go in SWAT style, look what happened.
I'm pretty sure there is a bit of exaggerating going on, I'll bet that 6 year old didn't have a bunch of military style guns pointing at him, along with a 6 year old sitting outside, on the sidewalk, in 35 degree weather, in the rain, for over an hour.

Wow. Not even going to call me out on the made up Section of the Constitution (there be no Section 12 of Article I)?

Innocent people were forcibly removed from their home, under pain of death (because in reality, had they resisted all would have been butchered), and left out in the cold looking for someone who did not live at the address?

Their Rights were violated - they are victims of violence....State-sponsoted, but violence nonetheless.

Punished for something they didn't do, didn't partake in, didn't cover up, didn't aid, didn't condone.

The wrong people got punished. It ought to be the Rights-violating policy enforcers facing the music.

I just don't understand the NEED to go and get all kitted up and stack on a door. There was no gurantee that the suspect was there, and what was the urgency? If they are so concerned about "officer safety" then why not sit on the house and identify the suspect that they're looking for is there, wait for him to leave and take him in the vehicle? Seen that scenario play out a bunch of times myself and seems like a much much safer SOP IMO. What was the urgency to get it done right the f*ck now?

They have released the body cam footage. The first link is the beginning of the execution of the search warrant. Second is of them actually clearing the house. Not sure why WRAL didn't post both videos, they did, however, provide the links for the footage Raleigh PB posted to youtube.
