Shooting bench question (demensions)

I made a portable beach from an old portable internals stand. I'm struggling with seat height.

How far from the chair (seat) to the top of the bench?

Put your favorite rifle on the kitchen table. Sit in the chair. Are you comfortable at that chair height? If so measure the chair. Now set up the rifle like a day at the range. Is it a comfortable height on the table? If so measure the table. build the bench. If not add books to make it higher and if it is too high just give it a good guess. Build the bench.

Get a stool to play drums on.
Adjustable height, nice soft seat to sit on.

yeah, that is kind of the plan. I'm also considering cutting a few inches off the legs.

For my bench the front legs are trailer tongue jacks with wheels. That allows me to adjust height and wheel it around.

I worked it out. A fold up chair and sit on a Pelican case about 4" thick and it was the perfect height. Now I know how high I the chair needs to be or I need to cut the legs on the bench.
