I didn’t look way back but anybody here do a SBS ?
I got the forms way back to do a build but never got it done. Got a new thought on a build and wondered if it’s worth it?

I do, and it is an awesome weapon platform. What are your questions?

I’ve done two. A 14” 12ga (+1 mag extension) and a 12.5” 20ga.

The 12ga is a police magnum. The 20ga is on a youth/compact stock, so it’s 2.5” shorter instead of just the 1.5” difference in barrel length.

I believe it's a standard form 4. I have one for sale on here if you're interested.
Okay, it may be form 1
4 to transfer an existing one, 1 to make your own. Category of firearm makes no difference.

Mainly what forms do I need to fill out?
If you are purchasing an already built SBS then you will need to fill out a form 4 at the FFL from where you are purchasing the weapon. If you are building it yourself, then a form 1 is all that is needed. Under a form 1 you will need to have the frame or receiver engaged with your or your trust information and make sure you do not posses all the parts to complete the SBS until the form 1 has been approved. Federal law uses things like constructive possession to keep you from owning all the parts even though they aren’t assembled.

I also have this one in .410, but it’s not an SBS. It’s not even NFA. It would be an SBS if I filed the form and added a stock.

Just so there’s no confusion, it would also be a Form 4 if you bought an existing NFA item from a non-FFL. For example, if I chose to sell one of mine…which I’m not.
