Short wait times for suppressors are the new normal

I'm very envious! I'm still waiting on ones from as far back as 3/17 and have a total of five pending currently. Maybe I'm a super secret felon and didn't realize it?

You keep adding to the list. They’re waiting to see when you’ll stop so they can process all of them.

Q trash panda on a form 4 trust. Submitted in late Nov 2023. Still pending. I’d love to jump in on the short wait times for individual or standardized trusts, but I have an old school trust and will stick with it regardless of wait times.

My lust of suppressors, much like my lust for pistols, never ends. I'll eventually die from being crushed by the weight of living under a pile of Glocks and suppressors.

short wait times for individual or standardized trusts
Can someone clue me in on this? I want/need a 45 can for an SBR. The SBR is mine individually, all my other stuff is on trusts (pre finger print). I know that things have changed, but for transferability in the family I think I’d like to stay with a trust, but I’m happy to create another.
So, how can I use a trust and get a fast turnaround?

My understanding is that the fast form 4 approvals are for individuals or standardized trusts like the silencershop one-shot trust with one RP on the form 4. The reason is that ATF must have a way to automate this process including the NICS check. With multiple RP’s or a normal god-fearing trust like mine, a human has to apparently review it, which still takes the ATF months to perform since they’re so incredibly thorough and diligent with the form 4 infringement….er approval….process.

Mine isn’t a SS trust. But it’s a trust with a single RP and over a dozen stamps (all the rest are registered to a different trust) already.

10 days in so far on my latest.

THSF says he hasn’t had a single trust of any kind come back fast.

I'm still pending on a F4 Trust from 11/04/23 (day 168), F4 individual from 3/16/24 (Day 36). Just submitted another F4 individual yesterday in hopes it will act as an boot in their azz to get them going on the previous two.

I submitted one on 4/11 hoping for this result, but didn't seem to do anything. I'll probably have another one or two submitted early next month, so I guess we'll see if those help.

One of my 3/17s (Rugged Oculus .22) finally got approved. Doesn't appear to be a batch approval since I've received no info on the other four and it's been ~13 minutes since the Rugged Oculus e-mail. I may follow up tomorrow morning requesting batch approval for the other four. 🤞

I also have a single RP trust with 8 stamps, I'm 60 days and 25 days on my last two so far (another submitted today). I've only heard of a random trust here and there get quick approval, so I'm not holding my breath.

this thread sucks :)

It's been two weeks already, when is my approval going to happen!!!!!

It seems approvals either comes in a day or in a month with very little in between (at least, that's my impression without analyzing the reddit megathread too deeply). Still, a month beats a year. Further still, the NFA is unconstitutional.

Bought a DA mask. I remembered @Dale Gribble said it was good awhile back so that’s what I did. It felt good not overthinking something for once 😜
So you took the opinion of somebody that shot a silencer for the first time <18 months ago?

Luckily he had some good influences in his life. 🤣😎

The DA Mask is one of the ones I picked up too. Managed to find some cheap Glock 44 threaded barrels, so going to be trying it on that and a Savage bolt action that @Jayne sold me. Seems to be one of the best reviewed non-boutique .22 suppressors available.

The Mercy Pluto that @SecundusSystems has is really tempting me though after PewScience's review on it.

I appreciate you rubbing it in. I bought it in hopes of being in the cool kid hours/days approval group. Of course my TSA pre-check took over 90 days for approval and a co-worker got approved by the time he got to his car walking from the submittal office. I think my nuclear clearance from a previous job actually hurts not helps the process.

I'm pretty sure everyone on this forum is on some kind of watchlist if not several.

Yeah at this point I figured why not give it a shot for the short wait time. Although I'm pretty much reserved to the fact that it'll probably be another year LOL. Maybe this way I'll be happily surprised.

I think you’re right. I have a buddy who has a TS clearance and works in some sort of secret squirrel cyber intel jobs for a 3 letter agency. Every time he buys a gun it takes at least an hr for his NICS check to come back.

still waiting on my form 4. there was an error on it though, so i will probably cancel and resubmit

My recent form 1 went along nicely though

Two guys on here filed (as individuals) on Fri 4/26 and were approved today (5/1). First stamp for one of them for sure, and maybe for the other as well. ETA: confirmed it’s the first for both
