I shot my new sbr i put together and the first 3 rds appeared to be light strikes. But the rest fired fine, i know the bcg is good to go as it worked fine on the other rifles it had been on. Here is what i have on it
AO precision bcg
Ballistic advantage 11.5 barrel with bcm mod 2 muzzle device
Aero adjustable gas block
Bcm blem upper
Aero 10.3 hand guard
My brass was going out anywhere from 3-5’ from 1:30 to 3:00 positions (mostly 2:00) The gas block is as it came from aero and if i understand right it is opened all the way from factory. The position of the ejected brass tell be it is undergassed. Any ideas from you experts
Thanks

On another note, i think i am going to move the aero Adjustable block to the Grendel and put the bcm gas block on the sbr. Hope to tame a little recoil on the Grendel with the gas block

I’m not sure about the light primer strikes, what trigger are you running? Maybe the bcg wasn’t fully seated? Does the firing pin look ok?
As for ejecting between 1:30-3 you’re a bit overgassed. 3 o’clock is ideal but anything less than is too much gas. Do you plan on running a can at any point?
I’m running a can on my 11.5 with a t3 buffer and the heaviest buffer (red) sprinco makes. Timing is great without the can but still a bit overgassed with it.
Love the shorties but they definitely run hard.

Would love to see a pic…

Trigger type and Buffer/Spring system are necessary info.

Running my BA 11.3 Hanson with a H2 and a bootleg adjustable bcg for supressed/unsupressed shooting. Gassing is good, usually BA does a great job on gassing.

Larue mbt trigger
AO Precision bcg. I know it is gtg as it worked great in the other gun it was used for.
I was using M193 ammo (not sure if win or pmc tac)
I have an aero adjustable block and i guess i need to close it a bit and see if that helps.
I’ll post a pic soon

the MBT should be gtg. If I had any more light primer strikes I’d throw on the optional heavy spring it comes with it(although I believe it mainly affect the trigger pull weight). It could just be a fluke, but I’d definitely run 3 or more mags just to see

How is the adjustable gas block doing? Any issues with it carbon locking? How many rounds have you run through it. I’m just reluctant to go that route?

I just put it on with this build. 20ish rds thru it. So i don’t how i’ll like it. I was actually thinking of putting it on my 6.5 Grendel and using a bcm gas block and heavier spring/buffer on the sbr

The adjustable bcg is pretty cool. No issues with locking yet, but I don't have a ton through this build yet. Only a couple hundred tops.
