My son has been using my Aimpoint CompM2 on his .22 rifle and was recently given a Sig Romeo MSR red dot to try in place of the Aimpoint for size/weight savings

It works well, however, the mount is a little high. Do all the Romeo mounts have the same bolt pattern? I’ve read that the Romeo5’s use T1 mounts but I’m not sure if that’s accurate and if the MSR is the same.

I’ve seen a few low mount options but unsure which will actually work.

Thanks for any help

I bought a used Romeo 5 from someone that had it on a MSR mount. I didn't want the mount. I believe they share the same T1 pattern.

Just wanted to add that I remember the MSR mount was smaller length wise than the Romeo 5 base.

Did you put a lower mount on it? That’s what I’m wanting to do. Just a no frills nonQD low rise mount

“Full” versions of the R5 include a high mount and low mount. Discounted versions (usually found for $90-$110) include only the high mount.

Yea it’s T1, I’ve swapped for a low mount as well. Crimson Trace made one but it’s hard to find. Most orhers cost as much as the MSR now.

Yes, I can confirm that the Sig Romeo 5 uses Aimpoint T1/T2 bases/mounts. I got a Scalarworks T2 LEAP mount to work as a trainer red dot on my 15-22, and the Romeo 5 installed perfectly on that. If the MSR has the same footprint as the Romeo 5, then it will likely be able to take the same.

Awesome thanks everyone

It’s going on a .22 bolt gun for my son so a simple chinesium substitute will work

This thread reminded me…does anyone know where to buy just the Sig Romeo 5 mount? I broke the tip of a torx bit off in the screw to the mount and I’m running out of ideas of how to get it out (any suggestions??), so I’m about to the point of going to just cut the mount off and scrap it. I know it will fit the Aimpoint T1/2 mounts but my usual go to is ADM and I really don’t want to spend almost as much as the optic just to get a new mount.

High or low mount?

Id bet Sig would send you a new one.

When I bought mine, I didn’t realize I had purchased the high mount only version. I called them to tell them my optic didn’t include the low mount upon which time they informed me I had purchased the high mount only version. They sent me the low mount anyway.

I’ll give that a shot.

I've scored a number of ADM lower 1/3 mounts for cheap on GAFS ($45-50). You could always put up a WTB. - I'd contact SIG though, they should take care of you.

I’ll keep an eye out for one on their. I did order a real cheap on from primary arms last night so I’ll see how that one is and it should either fix my problem or hold me over till I can get a better one.
