Ok, Im a noob at these things, I need some help on this topic.
I know that at one time it was ILLEGAL, I understood, to shoulder a sig-style brace on a pistol.
I was told, yeah yeah, I know how that goes, recently that it was now LEGAL to shoulder a brace.

What is the legality of it?
I will go SBR route eventually, that is for sure. But the lure of a $100 folding brace sounds good to last me a while until I start the long wait for a stamp.

you won't get much of a folding brace for $100. But yeah, as of now, BATFECES has retracted it's overreach and the joys of pistol ownership are again glorious.

From what I understand, if you stand on one leg, and touch your nose a certain way, it is cool. But, both feet on ground, and touching the left ear: you are redesigning a pistol and making it into a Phased Plasma Rifle with a 40 watt range.

There's also something about skinny pants and halter tops, but I think that has to do with the Thing That Goes Up, and doesn't apply to pistols, phasers, or even blasters. Mostly common sense gun laws, but do your research!

Legal.
A federal judge ruled that the ATFASSHOLES were wrong when they claimed that to shoulder an arm brace constitutes "re-making" the pistol into an SBR.
His words were "Holding it to your shoulder does not remake it into a rifle, it is just stupid. It is not illegal to be stupid."
Link to this judicial ruling?

I'm aware the ATF issued a letter that reversed their "shouldering a braced pistol turns it into a rifle" position, but not aware of any court decision.

I'm happy with the KAK Shockwave brace and tube. All in you're about 70 bucks. It will work on any tube, but the KAK tube is dimpled for the set screw on the KAK brace. Works well.

The recent pistol I put together has a KAK because I liked its style and profile. I’m very happy with it.
