Any suggestions for sights/optics for a Buckmark Contour? Target shooting is fun, but I might just set up to fail at hunting with this thing.
Odds will be in the squirrel's favor, but I like the challenge.

I use my 7.5" with iron sights due to the long sight radius, also have a 2x scope which goes back to zero pretty well. But out to 50 yards a red dot may get it done.

Just got mine in this morning. Not crazy about the factory sights, but might dab a bit of paint on the front blade and give them a try.

Should be easy to screw on a replacement fiber optic front? Mine is a Tac-sol fluted bbl came with their rail and sights.

Mine is the Contour URX. two folks used to make replacement fronts, both stopped production. This is the only one that I could find....

My buckmark SS camper came with the FO front and adjustable blacked out rear. Couldn’t imagine that any sort of upgrade exists for that setup 😂. Kids these days throwing big bright fiber optic rears my dang eyes can’t focus on the front sight when there’s a giant radioactive green dot searing my pupil in the rear 75BE7424-2687-44C3-B80C-E6046A9B08CC.jpeg

Aimpoint micro is ideal with short BM rail - your model has full length but standard rail doesn't fit many 2 ring setups.

I attempted to shoot the thing this morning. I knew better, since I had not cleaned it at all, but it was "unfired" at that point.

CCI Quiet...Fed fine, fired fine, didn't even think about ejecting. Hand ejected and second round did the same.
Rem. Golden bullet....failed to feed all 4 rounds from magazine.
Federal (from 550 pack)....1st round fed fine, fired fine, ejected fine. 2nd 3rd and 4th failed to feed.

Took the gun apart and found that it was packed with oil and grease that looked like petroleum jelly, and there was a LOT of "grit" embedded in both.
I polished the feed ramp, as well as a spot under the rail at the rear where the slide had been rubbing. Only lightly oiled the contact points of the slide.
I'll try again tomorrow.
