Saw this today outside an independent shop just today and had to get a pic to share here. Two cheap floor jacks, one under the right rear, the other under the left front. Three wheels removed, LF/LR/and RR and its still standing. No stands for safety for the vehicle or the mechanic, but its working. IMG_20230126_123321405.jpg

How in the hell is the left rear nit dropping to the ground!

LOL, yeah I know its a horrible photo. I had to zoom in quite a bit then crop to not include the business name. I didn't want them to see me taking a picture because some shops get a bit testy if you catch them with their pants down.

you know, for not wanting to out a place, you sure know how to out a place...

That’s why they left the RF tire on, as a counterbalance! Not the first time they have done this!!
also probably most of the weight is the engine, which is in the front. tipping it would mean enough weight added to the back to lever up the engine. not impossible, but good enough for a quick job... but you wouldn't catch me under it.

think tripod. as long as the weight is balanced it will not flip over.

Not saying the tripod method using jacks only is safe, jackstands are cheap and a much better option.... even if you aren't working on the vehicle at the time. Looks like that shop should invest in a few.
