I've made some calls to obvious possibilities with no luck.

I have a couple cast iron Kohler flatheads that I'd like to get bored and cranks polished/turned.

Anyone know someone who does small engine machine work within an hour of the triangle?

Thanks
John

I've had that kind of work done by the machine shop at Walker Auto Parts (formerly Barnes). The work was fine, and ready when promised.

There used to be several shops around town who did this sort of thing, but most have faded from the scene. Barnett's has the skill and capability, but probably too busy building race motors to take on small stuff

Doug and Johnny at Boyette’s can probably help.
I’d contact both shops

Thanks gentlemen.

This is becoming a more rare skill set .

Do you need them bored, or honed out?
Of the crank bearing and seal surfaces are in good shape, you can polish them easily.

Is this a single cyl ~12hp engine?
If I recall they have roller bearings on the ends. I rebuilt some YEARS ago. There are manuals somewhere on the wake Forest property.
