Should be fun, enjoy it!
Related to the need for an anchor, perhaps post something in the Wanted to Buy........... a Glock thread......... just a thought.

l think a glock is best used as a boat anchor though a bit on the pricey side. though i don’t think it would work well in one…. even beach on dry land

Concrete block works

i’ve thrown around that idea as well. a couple weeks ago, at a fishing shop in GA i found a…… retractable for the lack of better terms that would do good in the inlets of GA

Make your anchors.
Two pieces of 6" pvc about 18" long, bag or two of concrete, have the fellers at Lowes bend two 16" pieces of #6 rebar for you...see where this is going?
Edit: Changed to 18. 12 may not be enough weight.

Im all about inexpensive lol

i hear ya, actually, i guy is
gonna be having some work done to his house that includes plumbing so i think imma reach out to him.

You will need plenty of life vests.

already have them. bought the kiddos, myself and wife all ones when we first got kayaks

I made a couple of concrete anchors using old 5 gallon buckets. Took some scrap flat steel pieces with holes in them and put an eyebolt through them with a nut on the bottom. Spread the scrap out into an "X" pattern. Set them in the bucket and poured in about 4" of concrete mix, leaving just the eye out. Once the concrete cured, I was able to break the old bucket off of it.

Having spent time on a number of boats of various sizes and degrees of accommodation, I think yours is about perfect!

You may need a few more. 😉

I think then it will turn in to BYOLJ lol.

I had the same problem awhile back and put concrete in a Gatorade Jug with a 4" eye hook, its worked pretty well so far...LoL...
Congrats on the New Ride!!!

Look at using a couple old brake rotors for anchors.

simple yet effect, between this and @draco88 mentioned, I think the anchor situation is gonna be settle in the next day or 3

With the amount of boating accidents on this forum I for sure would not be putting stock in it’s boating advice!

ah the thing about it though, is it really "bad" advice. lessons learned from said boating accidents is a good thing lulz

Have you found the little man yet?

???????? the what?

Great little boat! Easy in, easy out of water. Low maintenance besides the motor. Aluminum boat will last forever if you don’t hit anything. Get motor serviced every other year unless it’s extremely high usage then do it every year. Ask me how I know.

this is exactly why i wanted something like this. contrary to hearing the endles smack talk about a boat, i knew/know for the most part what i’m getting in to.

thing was easy coming out which was my biggest concern.

took it out on the water this morning to shake it down, and the biggest issues this thing is currently having-

the wheel bearings need to be replaced, one of them is roaring.

fuel shut off valve

find out why it has no reverse

find a better place to mount the battery

trailer lights, this is a car issue more so than trailer.

new plugs, found out it was missing the pin that locks the engine in to the “trim position”. fixed that

with my big booty it does need some weight in the front to actually get in plane.

got it up to a whopping 9mph. i think new gas will help a lot, gonna get some new NGK plugs, as they only had auto lites…

A stick anchor is perfect for a small boat fishing in the marsh and oyster beds. No big splash when deploying it, no scope needed, perfect for when you to be on a specific spot, and light weight. Will also not accumulate mass quantities of mud when you remove it. You can make your own out of PVC.

well i wanted to reinforce the transom. this is the roughing of it.

gonna probably keep the 2x4 it came with on it as she’s sturdy just on mock up.
