I've acquired some old 1911's and some other guns and I know that they haven't been cleaned in years. Do yall recommend sonic cleaners and if so, what model/brand?

You want a bigger one than you think
Good heat control - digital
Sonic digital controls
A drain valve on the tank so you don’t have to tip
I only do modern firearms and parts - check with someone before putting a blued finish in the tank
I did a motorcycle carb yesterday for a buddy. Came out like new

If you’ll search this site for the word ultrasonic, you’ll get a couple threads to read…in addition to what gets posted in this one.

Amazon has several. the one I bought was around $150-200. it was a bit bigger than some of the others. Here is a trick to use whatever one you get. Put water in the unit, put your parts in a ziplock bag, add cleaning solution (simple green) and water to the ziplock bag, and put the bag in that water in the cleaner. You can put several bags in mine at a time. I take the bags out dump them and add more solution and water. Usually do each part twice for about 4-5 minutes. Doing it in bags makes things a lot easier and you can maximize the space.
