So, I'm helping a buddy swap motor/Trans from a 1992 g20 to an 88 g20. 92 has electronic VSS, 88 has a speedo cable.
Question: How can I make this swap work? Can I run an independent wire from the sensor? If so, where?
If we don't do anything will it affect the drivability of the van? I know this would cancel speedometer and cruise control, but if that's the only downside, its an option.
My main misunderstanding is whether or not the computer has anything to do with the VSS or does it only affect the speedometer.
We are carrying the 92 computer over to the 88 body as well.
