Good Morning Veterans!

We have a friend who's husband is a veteran but may be going to jail(felony charge). She's try to find someone who can help her figure out what happens to her daughters benefits if the father receives a felony. I thought the VSO could help but they told her they only help veterans. Others recommend her checking with JAG on Ft. Bragg(Liberty). Anyone have an idea? I'm in Fayetteville
Thank you for any and all help or ideas.

I don't know if this will to find your correct answer. Might want to check it out.

Veterans in receipt of VA pension will have payments terminated effective the 61st day after imprisonment in a Federal, State, or local penal institution for conviction of a felony or misdemeanor. Payments may be resumed upon release from prison if the Veteran meets VA eligibility requirements.

dont know why the vso said they, they help spouses with benefits issues like death indemnity compensation (dic), so they should provide some assistance here as well. the above link is all the info i would have on it as its a VBA issue, you can contact them at 1800-827-1000 for further info

Thank you everyone. I know he's 100% disabled. Part of it is medical insurance for her daughter and I think also GI Bill college stuff.

I'm curious what benefits his daughters would have.
Once you are 30% disabled or higher then upon your death your medical benefits revert to your child until they are 18.

With 100% being over 3 grand a month, tax free, it would be worth knowing.
