Family said they wanted him to be remembered like he lived, 17 year old shooting victim at his wake. H e was dressed in his Celtics jersey, playing NBA 2K on an XBOX with his favorite snacks and chair

I've heard stories about the whiskey fueled Irish wakes in my great grand parents living room 'back in the day' that almost make this seem normal.

They need to do this for criminals who are DRT from law abiding citizens.
Show them in the criminal act at the time they decided to forfeit their life.

So I always said I wanted to do the natural burial. Quick fast no messing around, but this may have changed my mind. Prop me up fly rod in one hand Guinness in the other. Creepy as hell.

That’s how quite a few of the younger generation looks today ... aside from the movement in their thumbs how would you know they were dead?

Hell, that's how most office workers look; they probably can't tell if they are alive themselves. I know I couldn't.

One of my buddies told his mother that he wanted to be buried in his motorcycle vest with his knife and a bottle of Jack. She told him,"son, you'll be dead, I'll bury you in a dress if I want".

My wife says I'm going to bury her in the '99 Sable because I'll never get rid of the car.

That pic's gruesome, but during the mid to late 1800's, lots of people took post mortem photos. Everything old is new again.

This dude, for example is dead.

Maybe this is a Wilkes county thing, but used to be, when someone died, everybody took pictures with the corpse at the viewing. That's not been that long ago.

That's a tradition I'm glad to say has mostly died out. Pun intended.
