Streamlight ProTac HL-X Pro

Just tell me the tail cap will be made available for standard HLX models…

So the "Jack Cap" is listed in the product guide as part no. 88130, and is showing out of stock but is listed @ $51 at Gunmag Warehouse. I'll be a happy boy if I can buy one of those instead of having to buy and stack Arisaka/Surefire parts so I can use a Surefire or Modbutton pressure switch instead. This light would become my new go-to for sure, as flakey tailcap connections are my only complaint about the Streamlights.

I was envious, I can not find the pro for sell either.

Is there a specific release date?

From what I hear, sometime in November. There are several sites inidicating it is for sale, but showing “out of stock”….they do have prices listed, though. On average, it’s looking like $150.00

Well crap so much for copy and paste it’s the HLX not the pro version

I ordered from Amazon didn’t realize changes my order

The regular HL-X is a solid light. I have the handheld and the rail-mount. 1000 lumen/27K candela.

Still haven't seen these released, but did see MSRP posted in an article as $210 for the light and $266 for the kit with pressure switch/mount.

Well, on closer examination, these do not use tailcaps that fit the more common Surefire footprint. It looks like the tailcaps use the same connector that is commonly used for IR lasers, not lights. Guess its back to the drawing board for me.

For $266 you’d be better off spending a little bit more and getting a Modlite, Cloud Defensive or SureFire.

I suspect they will be well under $200 market price, but I’m still not buying into another non-standard setup. Feel like they really missed an opportunity with this one.

They definitely missed the mark, those numbers aren’t that impressive either.

I knew about these, but you’re talking $35 to then have to turn around and buy a Surefire tail cap anyways, which now pushes you into the price range of the big boys. A Streamlight that could adapt directly to the Surefire ecosystem of switches at Streamlight prices would be a game changer.
