Picked up an AK today and noticed the muzzle device was seized and the spring pin was mushroomed a little and stuck.
I *should* have rotated the pin and oiled it more as I tapped it down into the front sight post but I assumed it was just dragging on the muzzle device edge and when it was removed the pin would be free…. Wrong.
So here I sit, with oil and heat applied, getting nowhere. Whole reason I bought the AK was to suppress it and I need the pin free to do that. Replacing it is very unlikely since finding an original front sight post to replace this one would be nearly impossible, so what to do?
I am thinking it will have to be drilled slightly, maybe threaded, and run a bolt in to see if I can pull backwards on it to free the pin, we shall see.
