If this is a repost or misplaced, may the mods strike me down (or potentially correct my error, that's cool too)
Figured I would start a thread for modern guns with full length handguards that cover their cans. Feel free to post details of why you went the route you went and what parts you used in the process.
I'll kick this off with a two-fer.

Below is the Maxim PDX with a 12 inch MR556 MLOK handguard. The PDX uses a 416 pattern upper so it can attach factory as well as aftermarket 416 rails. It has a 8 inch long Sandman-L hidden underneath with a 5 inch 300 black out barrel. The factory H&K handguard is wide enough to not only accomadte the can but also leaves plenty of room for the mlok screws so they are not contacting the can. I doubt this was H&K's original intention with this handguard but it worked out great for me needs.

Below is the Sig Rattler (which I have since replaced with the PDX). It also features a 1 in 5 twist 5 inch 300 blackout barrel and is shown with both a Sandman L and in the latter picture a Sandman-k with a Deadair E-brake. As you can see, the factory Sig rail allows the mounting of acessories to the mlok rail without impeding the can (something the Midwest Industries variant of the handguard can not do) but fails to completely cover a large chunk of the can - which for my purposes was defeats the purpose of using such a wide handguard in the first place IMHO.

Why? The first time the "forbidden popsicle" touches your leg, you search for solutions ASAP. Suppressor wraps and covers helped with mirage but I dont suffer with suppressor mirage on a 300 blk out gun the same way I would on a long range rig. The extended handguard offers some protection, helps eliminate suppressor shadow for lights and allows you to brace the handguard as opposed to the can against barriers while also enabling you to hold the gun further out and balance the "front heavy" firearm easier. I haven't experienced 300 subs heating up the handguard enough to merit causing harm or discomfort. Supers are a different story entirely.
