This sounds like an interesting book.
"There were three million hunting guns in France in 1939, according to the Saint-Hubert-Club de France, a hunting association."

...only 835,000 of three million hunting guns --less than one-third--were turned in by French citizens threatened with the death penalty for not doing so. That is an incredible testament to the inefficacy of gun control in the most extreme circumstances.

It is also a testament to the bravery of the French people who did not turn their guns in; some of those guns contributed to the Resistance and helped the Allies to win the war. "..[T]he only armed resistance in France until D-Day was conducted by civilians..."

Remember this the next time you hear someone mention that private citizens should not own guns.

We always hear the Yamamoto quote “a rifle behind every blade of grass” (bogus or not) of the mainland US ... a resistance of the people was something that would have occurred in most countries 75 years ago but what about now? Here in the US if there was an invading country who would actually resist and just how would they? I have very little faith in the average person in our country today to first have it in their heart and soul to resist ans then second have the means, knowledge and ability to do so. If they could fight them with Tweeter, Facebook and such they could whip anyone but to get in a physical and mental battle at the level in would take I’m not sure just how many could and would. Sad state of people to and a reminder I pray my Grandparents who were part of the Greatest Generation Ever (including those French Resistance Fighters) can’t see what the US and world has sunk to.
 
As a whole America is becoming more and more like France. Most of Europe has no use for the French. And most of the world has no use for America. The difference is in France they are heavily linked by currency, unions, and ease of border crossing.

There are many who have the experience, training & dedication to train & organize PLT or CO (or larger) sized elements to conduct small unit tactics. Are there, or will there be enough? That, I do not know.
 
"Or be shot"?......that would playing fair. The communist bastards that will come for you will also first come for your wife and children as well, all will be considered enemies of the state. Once the word is out about their techniques they will allow the spouse and children to live providing you give up peacefully. Much easier than being shot at, don't you think.
