My son's FIL asked me yesterday about lefty AR's, the only thing I knew was Stag.
Give me your thoughts, and where can he get the best deal?

This is what I read and believe it to be the ebst solution especially if your plan is to train. Most ARs are now ambi for most controls and the ejection port isn't really a consideration.Unnecessary.
I'm a lefty 3 gunner and have not once noticed brass flying by my face or anywhere else.

Agree,
But why have burn marks on your right arm, why have carbon all over your face when it can be avoided?
My work rifles are all righty's. My personally owned rifles are lefty.
The only time carbon is an issue - for me - is Suppressed 9mm SBR (blowback operated)
Unnecessary.
My nephew is a lefty and just learning to shoot, so I am going to have him learn and train as a righty. If you are right handed, shoot your AR as a lefty for the year of 2018 and see if you feel the same way.
I agree its not needed, but so is the Glock 19 over the 17
He said he wanted an AR lefty, he couldn't get past the brass by his face. I told him I'd look into it.My nephew is a lefty and just learning to shoot, so I am going to have him learn and train as a righty.
If it's that big of a deal, then go ahead and get a Stag receiver set and build the left AR you want.

Thanks! It's true that I'm looking for a friend. Being a 'righty' the only issue I have with brass is finding all of it.A quick google search coughed up several AR's in southpaw:
Stag of course,
Rock River, and
Black Rain (featured on the back cover of the current AR-15 magazine)
Happy left side shooting.
(just ignore all of the folks who seem to think you should shoot a righty, it's you and your gun)
Nope.Do they issue a LH rifle to the troops?
