I am thinking about getting another pistol to keep as my car gun. Right now, I have a SCCY 2 with a red dot and it has never failed to run with any ammunition. A friend wants a budget handgun with a red dot and I am thinking about selling my SCCY.
I am looking at the Taurus G4X as a replacement. Does anybody have any trigger time with this gun?

I don’t not have the G4X, but I do have a couple of G2Cs that I use for car guns and teaching newbies. Thus far, I’ve never had any FTF, FTE, or any other malfunction caused by the gun. I got them under $200 each and they fit the truck/car gun scenario really well, these are in addition to what I carry on me. They stay loaded and hidden really well for just in case things. I was surprised by their accuracy as well. Unless the QC has dropped way off with the G4s, I think you should be good to go.

I have a gx4 and have had zero problems. The trigger is good and nice reset in my opinion. I carry it to church. It conceals better with my church clothes than my 43x.

I would suggest go to a range in your area that rents gun and shoot it prior to purchase.

I’ve been thinking about getting a GX4 lately myself. Taurus is currently offering a $30 rebate as well.

It's a good deal now. When they relaunched the G2 in 2017ish and all the models after, they've been really reliable. Perfect for the scenarios above

A buddy of mine owns a G2C. He's going to be giving it to his mother as he just got her into shooting and is looking for something MANLY AND LARGE but ego aside, he has never said a single negative thing about them and I know on the inside he loves it. Low cost but with a solid performance. I say they're a win.

OP: "Does anybody have any trigger time with this [GX4]?"

Yes. "A mag a month" is my EDC minimum goal. This GX4 went into service mid-2022.

Recently swapped out the factory front sight.

You're going to notice a huge change vs. the trigger you have now. You'll probably like it but it's fundamentally different.
