Doesn't work so well with aluminum wheelsHit with a sledgehammer, my wife did the same thing and bent the wheel. I patched the tire, hit the wheel with a hammer till it had a nice arc again. 👍
That's more than enough stupid to make me angryWe went through this a couple years ago with my oldest daughter. She also drove home on a flat when she was 16. Unfortunately, it was completely flat for awhile and she shreaded the tire and drove on the rim a good distance. Tire was flopping around and knocked a piece of fender liner out also. She had to drive on a donut a few days until I could find a salvage yard rim that matched. Of course it was also a Subaru AWD so I ended up replacing all the tires since all the rest were around 50%.

And the guy you pay to change your tires will spit in your food for doing thatPut a can of the tire filler in the car. Takes a minute to use and can save your ass alot. The new stuff is even tire sensor safe. Plus people with no skills can now get home safe.
Very true. But a daughter or wife stuck somewhere is far worse then a angry tire Jockey. Plus the new stuff doesn't do the damage like the old stuff. I have used it plenty in the last few years with no problems from me or the mechanic. Also 90% of my route is highway and a quick can is better then a slow change of tire with crazy drivers flying past youAnd the guy you pay to change your tires will spit in your food for doing that
When changing a tire is an unusual skill i fear for the genral public
I don't think I've ever been served food by the guys who change my tires so I'll chance it with the girls. All of the girls have a can now but also know how to change a flat. My son and I have plug kits and compressors in our trucks. And the guy you pay to change your tires will spit in your food for doing that

Note to self for the day my little one(s) drive: make them change a tire, do an oil change, and wash the car so that they know the do’s and don’ts.
My wife can drive a manual and wanted one for her next car. We recently got her a CX-5 but all inventory was automatic and it would have had to be special order. My wife is the exception to the rule, and drives only manuals. We had to order her 4 door Accord as to absolutely no ones surprise, they didn't have one on the lot (this was back in the early 2000's sometime). The dealership was begging her to take one of the MANY new auto trans 4 Dr Accords on the lot but, nope nope nope.....
She's rocking a 6 speed GTI now...
Actually, aluminum wheels can be reformed straight again as long as the damage isn't to bad. Its worth trying and technique helps to massage the metal back into the shape you want.Doesn't work so well with aluminum wheels
