Tesla cybertruck hit with tommy gun

I like the thread title like it is. I don’t know what it means, but after a couple of three finger snorts of Irish, it seems fine.
I think the summary of the article is, someone spotted a shot up cyber truck and Tesla confirmed it had been shot up per a private test. During the initial Tesla unveiling, the MC easily smashed out a window during the "It's hyper resisted/shatter proof/basicly bullet proof speech" and the internet LOL'd at them.

Says Elon was asked about it and he said that's what they used.

Wait, is it the same Elon Musk that is the richest man in the world with the most resources and is a self labeled alpha and bad ass who shoots a flame throwers and 50 cal but backed down to the world's biggest nerd Zuckerburg when that nerd said yeah he'd 100% fight him just name the place and show up, that same Elon? Lol

Anyway, here's a day time pic. It's safe to say they intentially didn't shoot at the windows given the history and overall design.

I mean... yea i think so. How many guys named elon do you know? He's a strange guy for sure, but he's interesting to watch. I will never own a Tesla, ai robot, or get a neurolink installed in my brain.

Just don't go digging around his childhood or family, it gets bizarre. His dad had a kid with his stepdaughter (Elons step sister) last year and it's downhill from there.

I had heard that. And didn't he have like 10 kids? Like i said interesting... but I don't admire him.

Meh.

It was a Tommy Gun. .45 acp isn't known for it's penetrating capabilities.

I found an empty aluminum beer keg in the weeds at an outdoor gun range one day and decided that was my next fun target to shoot at.

My 115 gr FMJ 9mm punched holes in it every time. The .45 ACP 230 gr FMJ, not so much. Lots of dents, some with a small split in the metal in the bottom of the dent, and occasionally one would punch through.

Presumably, out of a longer barrel, the .45 ACP from a Tommy Gun would have a bit more power. However, the Cybertruck body panels are 300 series CRES. I don't know what thickness, but given that the vehicle was fitted with bullet proof glass, I doubt it was 22 ga steel, like most vehicles. It wouldn't take much.

Ya'll are naming the reasons why they purposely picked the 45, you know that right? It impresses the ignorant but those in the know understand its another part of the smoke and mirrors of advertising.

Exactly.

My boss put the 10 grand deposit down when they first started accepting them. After a year they said it would be another year at least before delivery could start(which we now know was way off also) and offered his deposit back. He took his money and said screw it.

Think about the guys that put down 100k for the roadster 2.0😳

Wait. Their vehicles stops .45 ACP? What a great idea for 1930!

My first thought, as well. As long as you are driving the truck back to the future of 1930s Chicago, where you will face .45 ACP and .38 Special, then you are okay, I guess. Assuming they don't aim for the glass.

LoL.

I loved the proto type when it as unveiled and overall design. The real life product we've seen the last few weeks are trash. The body lines look bad and the quality and fit/finish look terrible. But hey, it can take bullets, great feature for San Francisco natives.
Or Chicago gangstas.

While I never saw a 45 acp get shot at a car, Ive seen lots of Dodge Chargers/Challenger that got returned back to our rental company that were riddled with 9mm and 40 cal holes. Not one of those bullets ever got past the inner door panel. They will at least break the glass tho. This is what happens when you rent cars to hood rats. We had one car that had at least 20 bullet holes in it and the guy was a relatives lil kids birthday party. He didn't think it was all that big of a deal and didn't even report it to the police.
