Saw it Thursday night. Reviews are great. I thought it was just….meh. Let’s try to make a gritty, emo Batman movie. Make sure to include a little wokeness. It did have some visually great scenes. Wish I had waited and streamed it. Looking forward to Morbius.

I liked it. This was the detective Batman that it's supposed to be. Also he's only been Batman for two years so he's still developing into what he's going to be.

Yes, he's a bit emo and hasn't developed the playboy alter ego yet and there was that bit where Catwoman was talking about Bruce Waynes white privilege. Although she kid of had a point, boo hoo for the billionaire orphan when there are real orphans dying from the cold every winter.

Dark AF but a good start.

I understand what they are trying to do. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. Just ok.
 
I went to see it, fell asleep early in, woke up during the car chase, fell back asleep and my niece woke me during the credits 🤣. I’ll try again maybe next weekend.

I don’t think I even want to pay for the cheap Tuesday tickets for this one or Morbius.

Then again, i never saw ANY of the twilight movies to distract me with memories of sparkly shirtless robert... @NCLivingBrit
Yeah, he was still trying to find his way as the batman, and they made that clear.
The guy playing the riddler really stole it though, and it's an outrage he didn't get nominated for every award.
but that kravits girl was like watching a goldfish stare out at the distance

Yeah, never saw Twilight only the memes. Oh the memes.....
 
After seeing the Lighthouse, I had no doubt that Pattinson can act. Finished the Batman last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Seems like they stuck to the source material and showed Batman as the somewhat unhinged detective he is. Felt like I was watching a very well-polished 90s thriller. Visuals were stunning

And that sound design was 🤌🤌. First time you hear the Batmobile crank, thought I’d need a new pair of pants
 
I think I liked it. It was long. I kept thinking it was the final act only to see there's 30 minutes left.
No comment on Pattenson as an actor.
I was surprised by the costumes being so crude. They seemed almost homemade. That added a little realism to the story, with him being a man who had no superpower. He wasn't a perfect badass, and I liked that.
 
Jury's out. Maybe I'm too old school but I always kind of liked the zillionaire rich kid playboy Bruce Wayne, this sullen emo mopey Kylo Renn Bruce Wayne is kind of a disappointment.

I'll give it another try.
 
Watched it tonight with the wife. Wasn’t bad enough we regretted spending the time doing so, but not good enough I’d ever watch it again.

I would like to have that Batmobile, though.

It’s on HBOMax. Didn’t cost us anything extra, especially since we don’t even have to pay for the service (included in our wireless plan).
 
Tried to watch on HBO Max with the wife. Got to the part where he hits one of the clowns like fifteen times and whispers"I'm vengeance". Went to play The Show 22 on my Xbox after that. This is not Batman, no matter how bad they want it to be.
 
I do think Vengence is a cool superhero name for an antihero. Cross between Batman and Punisher.
 
I actually like this version. It's more gritty and realistic .... grunge music with Alice in Chains and Nirvana... The plot is good and it leaves you guessing as to what is happening instead of the heavy special effects of past versions.

DC is dark.. the first Batman was big but it had some humor in it; the Dark Knight had Dark Characters.... the scenery is dark in this one, but has a lot of plot twists... as the viewer tries to piece the puzzles together.

Finally saw this with the free hbo/cinemax preview directv had last weekend. His makeup, character were the only redeeming parts of the movie.
Nothing about the other characters made them engaging or interesting. The whole Se7en-esq vibe to the riddler's tortures was unnecessary.
