The Navy and the M4

This looks like a setting where someone handed him that weapon too. I don’t know if that makes it better or worse (probably worse).

What's even better is the FB post from US Navy that I lifted the image from.

This means many people approved the image. Beyond just the perps on the tail fan. Lol

Who cares, it was posted on the official US Navy social media pages. Lol
Yea I get that, obviously whoever the navy has in charge of social media doesn't know much about guns.

I'm just wondering if they yanked some doctored image from the internet or someone really stuck the scope on backwards.

IS THE SAFETY ON? What the heck is going on here?!?!

Nice cover up

Lol

Not even worthy of being called a squid.

Just a dumb civilian with several family members and friends who did/are serving so I am aware my humor is right in line🙃

Somebody was deep in their Wokeness when they inserted the original image. DEI hard at work.
Murphy Rules🤣

It's definitely a photoshop, you can see the original scope behind it and there are no rings around the one that's overlaid.

Trijicon VCOG has an integrated scope mount (no rings) and there's a large battery compartment at the front of the scope so that's probably what you're seeing.

You're right. I didn't even notice it was a VCOG, I just saw the adjuster and it didn't dawn on me that it was the battery compartment on the other end. Even better!

I don't think it is (photoshopped). I wish it was. There's so many things wrong with this pic. I understand it was on social media for just a few minutes before it was taken down. I wonder if the CO (in the pic) will get fired like the rest of his counterparts.

It doesn’t have rings, it’s an integrated mount

The Navy probably uses contractors to monitor and update their social media. There is probably a team of about 10 recent college graduates who are good at twitter and facebook but know nothing about the Navy, equipment, uniforms, or ships. Anyone want to guess what the pronouns are for these contractors?
