Ok, a couple of days ago, I was uninspired as far as what to have for dinner. At the localDollar General I picked up a pack of hot dogs and buns. We had hotdogs and baked beans (a can, spiced up, with bacon, and oven baked). The next day I had a hotdog for breakfast and one with chili for lunch. Today, I had the left over chili and a hotdog for lunch. Hot sauce goes good on a chili-hotdog. This evening, what does my wife want for dinner? Hotdogs and left over beans. And tomorrow I have a hot dog and moar left over beans.

Next time I feel like buying a pack of hot dogs, I need to go lie down.

Today’s lunch for the Mrs. and me cost $3.49 plus tax. Hard to beat Costco’s hot dog and drink plus a slice of pizza.

My son and I had dinner at Sam's Club last night for $1.54. Their mistake, my gain.

They did give me heartburn though.

This story reminded me of the Andy Griffith episode where he has to eat spaghetti 3 times in one evening

Hot dog omelette. Yum!

Mentioned it to a coworker once and he thought I was nuts. Then he had one.

His wife saw him making one one morning and thought he'd lost his mind.

This at least weekly in Sam’s Club. Mustard and sauerkraut. Leftover hotdogs are one of my favorites. I cut them up and smother with homemade chili beside 3 eggs for breakfast.

I like hot dogs as much as anyone, but I will splurge and get some decent ones from the grocery store - Like Sabretts skinless all beef - only a couple of bucks more…

Would love a good hot dog sauce recipe “coney sauce”

This man has it figured out. I also like a good Nathan's dog. Life is too short for a crappy glizzy.

My wife loves having hot dogs in Kraft Mac n cheese. It's okay but I do not quite understand it.

The ones we had are Nathan’s, but I prefer Sabretts.

We often have them with the frozen Stouffer’s Mac & cheese.

I didn't realize dollar general sold Nathan's. They have really stepped their game up!

I think I got the one pack that was left. If you browse the cooler / freezer section they usually have a good stock of the cheaper products and a small selection of the higher end brands. Sometimes you get lucky. It’s also hard to beat having a store one mile from the house for convenience.

I stopped by farmer market in Raleigh yesterday to make my pork run at Nahunta Pork place https://www.nahuntapork.com/

Got a bag of Carolina Packers just because. Ate 3 on the ride home..

Edit: the new vet we have working with us who is Cuban by way of Miami. I guess it's a thing down there to put sliced boiled egg on top of hot dogs...

Great snack… so good! Same happens when I put them on the grill. Several get missing before I take them in the house. I guess it’s quality control??? No?

Percy Flowers hot dogs. Those of you that know, know.... mic drop.

Yes. I like mine separate though: oddly enough, I don't like hot dog cut up and put into the mac & cheese.

Sheetz two dogs for $1.00 with your Sheetz Card (not a credit card). Select regular menu and then hotdog, load them up anyway you like,
then you get the promo price vs selecting from the value menu that limits your topping selections.

When I visit my sister in NJ, I got to a joint that deep fries the dogs, I like them scalded.

Looks awesome! Love fried hotdogs. No need to go to NJ though. Hit up Bill’s hotdogs in Washington NC. Deep fried .. only topping available are mustard, chili, onions… then hit up the water front. Good day trip from Raleigh area.

They have restricted topping options now. Idk which one but I normally go chilli cheese and grilled onions. One of those are premium and about doubled the price. It was still stupid cheap and editable but I'm not going out of my way to order one.

Their curly fries I will though, love those things.

When I was a kid, my dad would by whiting filets at the fish market in 40lb bulk boxes, and we went through a period lasting about 2 years where he insisted on cooking fish for dinner 3 days a week. We'd have leftover fish 3 more days of the week. Dad also used that store bought seafood breader instead of using cornmeal like a normal person.

To this day, if I ever eat another whiting filet it will be too soon.

That is the only thing I miss about Cary. There was a Nathan's hot dog stand between the entrance and exit of Lowe's. At least I think it was Cary. Genius placement for the guys that have to lie to their wives about eating junk.

Is that the place with the white chili/sauce? I went to a hot dog place a few times when I was at ECU, and that sauce was legendary.

Edited to add, I googled it, yes, it was Bill's....
