The next time I want a hotdog

Is that the place with the white chili/sauce? I went to a hot dog place a few times when I was at ECU, and that sauce was legendary.

Edited to add, I googled it, yes, it was Bill's....

Yessiree! That’s the one! I do believe it’s a spicy onion chili of sorts. No meat. There will be a line out the door waiting to get them.

That is the only thing I miss about Cary. There was a Nathan's hot dog stand between the entrance and exit of Lowe's. At least I think it was Cary. Genius placement for the guys that have to lie to their wives about eating junk.
That guy did pretty well. It has changed hands since and not quite as good.

I would walk from the MetLife Building to Grand Central Terminal and grab two Nathan's dogs and a coke on my lunch hour back in 1989.

I would def. try that.
It’s definitely worth trying for sure. Just know.. they only serve red hotdogs, sausage dogs, chips, soda… and sometimes cups of banana pudding (if it’s not already sold out). That’s it, no sides of any sorts. Mustard chili onions, for toppings… that’s it.

Same as it was 30 years ago.

Ever have a white hot dog? Yeah its the color not the brand and the first time I tried them is when my Wife was visiting her folks that live on the shore of Lake Ontario. Saw this hot dog stand on the side of the road and that's the first time I saw them.. Awesome hot dog,, the meat isn't cured or smoked which is what gives it its color or lack of. Up there, they also do not boil their dogs and they all go on a charcoal grill.

My daughter occasionally visits friends in Roanoke, and almost always hits the Texas Tavern, but usually for a Cheesy Western.
Just don't ask for ketchup.
