Just throwing this out there in case anyone is interested. If there is a similar post, then just delete this, but I did try to search for one.

I heard something about this in the news last week and last night a friend emailed me this link.

It is comforting to know the VA is fighting so hard for us. lol I bet they are ecstatic with Biden as president knowing they most likely have the green light to screw veterans over like the good old days.

Here's a non surprising quote from the article:
And in 2013, veterans' suspicions of the lack of concern at the VA were confirmed when VA whistleblower and epidemiologist Steven Coughlin came forward to say that the department buried or obscured research findings that would link physical ailments to military service -- a concerted effort to deny veterans health care and benefits.

Coughlin's charges were later confirmed by an email sent to staff from former Undersecretary for Benefits Allison Hickey expressing concern that changing what the VA still calls "chronic multisymptom illness" to "Gulf War illness" might "imply a causal link between service in the Gulf and poor health which could necessitate legislation for disability compensation for veterans who served in the Gulf."
End Quote.

Of course the last thing our government would ever want to do is follow the science and prove there is a link and then be burdened by having to compensate veterans. lol You just can't make this stuff up. They will allow EBT cards to be used for bail, tattoos and nail salons, and always want to increase it at every opportunity, but doing the right thing for veterans... they just don't have the money. lol

I remember alarms going off frequently. I think we all thought it was BS and didn't think much of the alarms. I guess the average time to come clean about events is 40-50 years right? So looks like we're on the fast track for this one at 31 years. But I'm sure Biden is not going to be the president that signs legislation to help compensate veterans... at least not without using it as one of their million reasons to raise taxes.

I was in both gulf wars and since the first one, despite being in gladiator shape my whole time in the army, I was hit with a few unexplained illnesses at times that were pretty severe, one almost fatal at my 17th year mark, but I pulled through and made it to retirement. I've had similar health issues since retirement, but I still find a way to get back in fighting shape... I don't know how to live any other way. But I must find a way to apologize to Allison Hickey for costing them so much money. lol

I won't be making a claim regardless, but what are the chances they really make it official and compensate veterans? And in what time frame? I bet the hardest thing they will work on is making the criteria more difficult to qualify for compensation.

Here's another interesting tidbit from that article:

"Quite simply, our findings prove that Gulf War illness was caused by sarin, which was released when we bombed Iraqi chemical weapons storage and production facilities," said Haley, director of the Division of Epidemiology in the Internal Medicine Department at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

In otherwords...the source of the Gulf War illness was from weapons of mass destruction and their production facilities.

The irony being, when we went back to Iraq under the premise of WMDs, there weren't any...

I remember we were sitting around before the second war in Iraq, talking about how Iran was the biggest threat in the middle east by far, but back to Iraq we went and Iran just gets stronger and stronger. You can't make this stuff up. I would jokingly ask what else could we do for Iran?... but looks like Biden really is going to bend over backwards for them.

Among other things, Iran got stronger and stronger because Iraq was doing things like trying to fly their planes to Iran before we could shoot them down or blow them up o the ground. I remember watching the news on Iraq flying their planes to Iran and laughing, miming an Iranian standing at the border with a clipboard making little tic marks for their own air force as each plane flew across their border.
