Yes masks can cause healthy people problems. Mainly if they aren't using them properly. Especially those stylish cloth masks. I use single use masks and as soon as I touch the outside, I consider it contaminated.

So much yada yada from the "I've got the right to" group on this subject. Apparently the people that the shoe fits from my first post are being very vocal about this. Even got one explaining how altruistic they really are, except about this. Kinda amusing in a way.

As I said, you do you, I'll do me.

If caring about others by taking a simple precaution makes me one of the sheeple, I'm ok with that.

#1 learn human biology, particularly the part about the immune system
#2 show me a study that says wearing masks keeps you from getting the virus, and I'll show you 5 that says it won't
#3 50% of the people I see wearing masks are touching their face, or have ill-fitting masks which INCREASES spread of germs

So....GTFO of here with that self-righteous pious BS about 'greater good requires sacrifice of individual liberty' because nobody's buying it.

1. This is all it will take. I don't need to redo biology class. The masks, since you obviously haven't read everything and knee jerk reacted, are not about protecting the wearer, and I also mentioned that they must be used properly. Nor have I said anyone should relinquish their liberties. I'll say it one last time. You do you, I'll do me. So how bout you GTFO of here until your better informed.

the N95 mask above actually has an unfiltered exhalation valve which sends the wearers germs out tighter stream pattern and farther than the N95 below with out the e-valve like below ... both are N95 masks (but truthfully only the one below helps prevent spread) ... E-valve type masks are designed to protect the wearer from particulates in the air when wearing and not to filter the wear’s breath.

As to surgical masks and such they they allow 60% plus of particulates to escape out the sides over cheeks. Also half and full face canister respirators have a very similar e-valve type setup that spreads contaminates the same way. Homemade cloth masks actually catch germs and hold them for the wearer to breath them in at some point or even worse hold for a future wearing if the wear does not clean and disinfect the mask between wearing.

To put a twist on an old gun saying to apply to masks ... just because you have a mask don’t mean you know how to use and wear it to protect yourself (and others).

It's not about the mask, it's your condescending attitude towards the people that dont agree with you.

I do wear a mask, when I deem it neccessary not because some smug, condescending person "feels" like I'm not caring of others.

The phrase "when I deem it necessary" sounds an awful lot like a smug and condescending attitude, as though you are the arbiter of whats safe and what isn't. That and the eyeroll emoji. I merely choose to do what I do with the hope that it may make a difference. An attitude I guess I developed after being married to someone who was severely immuno compromised. In a way I am glad she didn't live to experience this. She would have been a virtual prisoner in our home or possibly gotten it and died alone in some hospital room instead of hospice surrounded by family.

We all make our choices. I've chosen the belt and suspenders route on this one. Just in case.

And there is at least one person that weighed in and flat out said they don't give a damn about others, and another that agreed

I keep seeing the celebrities online going outside decked out with the mask on, hand sanitizer hanging out of their pocket (to be seen by paparazzi), and talking about social distancing and hand washing but then they have their kids out with them with no mask on.

Easiest solution...if you want to wear a mask, cool, wear a mask. If you dont want to wear a mask, cool, dont wear one. If the maskies want to stay away from the normies, then fine. Enhances social distancing even more.

Just stated my opinion of those willing to endanger others just to show you go your own way. Others be damned. You just walked in to it in well fitting shoes. I for one do not seek the approval of others, especially on a web board.

Apparently you're the little engine that can't. I don't hope for others to jump on anything. Perhaps your pathetic need for approval is tied to how many likes or agreements appear about a post you make on a message board.

You also failed to recognize that I never said I expect anyone to do what I do. In fact I have been very clear that you should do whatever you want.

An opinion isn't a fault, it's what it is. We all got 'em and you know what they say about that. Yours stink, mine stink, etc.
