I love a snub nose, but they are not for everyone. It was really difficult to help someone’s older wife or an older single woman choose between a revolver or an auto for her home protection. On one hand, they had a problem with limp wristing an auto, and weren’t strong enough to pull the slide and clear it, on the other hand they had a problem with trigger pull and recoil with the revolver. The trigger pull could definitely be cured and recoil could be mitigated by Hornady Critical defense Lite loads. In the end, however, it usually boiled down to which of the two the lady was the least resistant to. Not the best way to make a choice, but that was the actual reality in many cases. I did end up with a much easier way for them to operate a slide, for those that chose that route, but it is easy to show, but impossible to explain. Most chose a snub nose revolver (in stainless) because it looked “less threatening” to them.
