I have a asr 3 prong that came on my AR that I got from another member. It's going to be longer than expected before I can purchase can. In the mean time I was looking at the asr blast shield but at $140 I figured I can make my own. What is the thread pitch of the asr mount?

Why not just remove the ASR and run a flash can?

Most 5.56/.223 and 9mm will be 1/2x28 in the US,
If it’s German, it will likely be 13.5x1 LH (Left Hand)
These are the industry standards for those calibers.

Because that would be too easy. And I already have a 6" tube in the building that has some threads in it. So in my head I was thinking run a adapter from the asr to my tube and cut down to about 4"

I don't think he's looking for the barrel interface. I think he's looking for the ASR interface. Which I believe is 1.375×24. My understanding is that this is a fairly common thread.

I don’t think that’s what he’s after. He wants to know what this thread pitch is…

Reach out to SiCo and ask, or get your hands on a thread pitch guage and a set of calipers

You're in Zebulon, I had RTT, up the road from you, fab a blast shield for my TBAC mount. Get a quote first.

That's what I was referring to.
Well…that’s not even close to 1.375x24. The outer threads on this are 1.375x24, and he’s wanting the inner threads that attach to the muzzle device. (I’m assuming that’s what he wants…as the 1.375 answer would’ve been easily foun)

Yeah, I just read that ASR comes in multiple interface sizes including the 1.375x24 standard (Hybrid Universal Base).

And none of that is what he’s after.

I was working with a machinist to get some ASR blast shields made, but he changed jobs before we got too far into it. I don’t even have a drawing I could look at for the thread pitch he wants. 😢

The HUB is one spec for the interface between the can and the muzzle device, so I thought it was a similar spec.
But, I've been up all night with my autistic son in the ER and they're still testing. So, maybe I'm not seeing straight.

Nope. The HUB is the spec between the adapter and the tube. Nothing to do with the muzzle device. It’s become semi-standardized based on the thread pitch of the SiCo Omega (which is why you’ll also see referred to with the Omega name at times).

Sorry to hear that…hope all turns out well.
