I had been pondering on a plate carrier for a while and decided to pull the trigger on one on Black Friday. Had looked at other vendors, but I knew Midwest Armor had been mentioned here by @Supermatch and others:
I checked their website. I really liked the Hilo model and cummerbund setup.

I decided on this over the others I was looking at. There was a discount for Black Friday so I ordered the Carrier and cummerbund at the discounted price, thinking the reduced price was the only BF deal. I was doing a BUNCH of other ordering also from other sites/vendors while staying and visiting with our GA family, so my time was limited. I still thought what I got was a good deal so I was happy-I didn't ask OR EXPECT them to "stack" the CFF paying member discount on the already great deal. I also didn't take time to see that they had a BF "bundle" that also included a free expandable front placard/admin-type pouch, that I could have gotten also with another click or two. I ordered (PC and cummerbund only) and went on with ordering more gun/tactical goodies

A couple hours later I checked my phone and noticed I had a missed phone call AND a text from Blake at Midwest Armor telling me he noticed that I didn't get the full BF bundle and he was wondering if that was intentional. Since I hadn't answered he said he would still throw in the front placard pouch anyway(!) Now THAT RIGHT THERE is as good as it gets with customer service! I did call back, and thanked him, and Blake had said he would try to get it out Friday but I told him I was in no rush as we were out of town and I don't have plates yet anyway. I received the package yesterday. I am very VERY impressed with the quality of this setup. I'm 35 years +/- in LE now, but I've only had one plate setup ever, and that was old military stuff we had gotten thorough the military surplus channel. I've never been SWAT but I have seen several officers buy their own over the years-mostly these were completely covered in MOLLE or PALS but that isn't my need and I specifically wanted a "cleaner" carrier-the Hilo is about perfect for me. It also fits me perfectly as I followed the website size guide (well...as perfectly as it can...given my rotund large MANLY build!😂🤪) Communication on their end was unbelievable-almost too much🤪-as I got texts and emails at every stage: order picked/boxed, shipped, out for delivery, delivered.
Color me VERY impressed with MA. 👍
