I got a call from my only remaining uncle that he had a few .45-70s he'd like me to look at, so I took a trip to see him after I got off my overtime shift.
Low and behold two of them are the rifles you see in the first picture. The silver lady is the Italian, the working rifle underneath is a true Remington rolling block.

It's been a good day......

Well break out the drool emoji!!! It is great however to get that call when they are still among the living, that's for sure.

Rolling blocks are awesome.

So was he just running it in?

Is this a "what's it worth" thread? "Im thinking of selling"? LOL. Just kidding, beautiful rifles. I shoot SASS, and they have a "buffalo match" where this is the type guns they shoot. I've never shot one, but they sound neat.

The rolling block appears to be a kit gun that Numrich gun parts sold in the 1970s. It was basically all new parts and genuine Remington receiver.

As far as I know he never fired a shot with either one. He bought a partial estate collection and these were part of the haul.

Im researching the stainless Sharps hoping to find out more about the model I have.
