Decided it was time to introduce the Grandkids to the shooting world and it went well.. I held off for the past 5 years because their Mother was murdered and didn't want them disturbed by handling something that can take someone life but I thought it was time and they were interested in what I do..So, I started a fire arm class here at the house, showing them fire arms and told them that they can and will take someone's life if used incorrectly. The 15 year old girl was receptive, but the 11 year old boy sort of bolted out of the garage after putting the pistol down. So, I took the 15 year old girl out to the range and she did really well. She had fun with the Ruger Pistol with a reflex sight and the 15-22..She talked her 11 year old brother into joining us the next weekend and he did well also.. Whats funny is that, these two kids normally hate each other and bicker all the time.. But at the range, they shared weapons, took turns and helped each other.. They never get along this good at the house ? I'm liking this new attitude and all this week they keep looking at the vids they took of each other and talking about it..This weekend Im going to introduce their 10 year old brother to shooting at their insistence and I cant tell whos more excited, them or the lil brother.. Maybe there is some merit into the saying " A family that shoots together stays together" Don't know, but I can tell you. They now have a common interest and there is no fighting in the house. Downside, these kids can burn thru some 22 LR ammo..
