What about those who train and compete in various games such as IDPA, 3-gun, IPSC?

Let's hope you never get attacked by a pepper popper.

I gotta tell ya though, this is something I have always wondered about. Just always seemed like a ripe avenue of attack for a prosecutor. There really is no good way to handle an after the fact situation. It's the tradeoff for being alive to have to deal with it.

I guess when it comes to firearm training, "don't tell, don't ask". ;)

Same goes for decals on vehicles, 2nd Amendment t-shirts, etc. There is a reason the Left calls us "gun nuts". It sets the stage in criminal court.

I’m very low key on my ITEMS-TNG-ETC

I took my decals off of my truck years ago, though I do have special painted on the jeep, but she seldom gets Road time..

Also because there is an outspoken minority many of whom are nuts. No different than with any social or political issue.

Like they said, it's a two edged sword. It depends on how and when it's presented.

My training was learn how to increase safety for myself and family.

If the use of law enforcement is the new standard, then we all need a minimum of 40 hours a year of training.

Secondly, I know for a fact that my training and knowing the law and what I can and cannot do allowed my self-defense situation to be cleared up in less than 36 hours.

This video is not created to help anyone, at all.

There are some videos put out by attorneys that are meant to help their fellow man navigate the legal warrens. But those are truly rare.

And this isn’t one of them. This is designed to sew doubt and worry amongst gun owners so they will run to have a lawyer on retainer.

That’s my opinion anyway.

Just like those warnings years ago with a particular grip being installed or even an NRA sticker on the car would lend Prosecutors to proclaim you're aggressive, etc. Maybe some testimony that you yelled at your mother when you were 5yra old too...

Just stop!

Each and every event is judged on its own merit!

Here, I'll write something that those who cower would be fearful of... That heaven forbid there is a life protection event unfold at your feet, that if there's only one side to to story, it's hard to dismiss it!

Why do I train? Because I Love poking expensive holes in paper. I loves those old Robinhood movies and have an ever persistent need to try and place two rounds through the same hole! Haven't done it yet, but keep trying! Lol

But really, people just need to lighten up!
;)

Controversial opinions and fearmongering = clicks, views, impressions, and ad revenue.

Training, competing, hunting, playing video games, doing or not doing any of the above... none of it transforms an instance of legal self-defense into an illegal one. For every notable borderline case impacted by local prosecutorial politics (think of a Harold Fish), how many other DGUs (from brandishing through discharge) occur without prosecution? The annual estimate from CDC's now-old study was 300,000 to over a million... going to the range or taking a class is not a poison pill.

If a teen, a new driver, takes BRAKES or a defensive driving course, some insurance companies actually cut the premiums as they are a better-trained driver.

If I have a fire extinguisher, my house insurance is less as I am mitigating risk.

The notion in the video is just ridiculous, on many fronts.
