Per the title, looking for a triangle-area CCW course. I care about instructor competence and course quality more than price. Want somebody who's excellent and thoughtful and hasn't built his identity around the idea that he's the Lone Ranger and might have to shoot half the people he meets. (Not thinking of anyone on this forum, just see a lot of that energy on YouTube!) Thanks for suggestions!

My oldest took her class from Fuquay Gun and really enjoyed the class.

Kind of west of the 'triangle' but not all that far. Can also say you'll like the instructor, a lot.

One of our own teaches at Fuquay Gun. My wife took her class there also.
Where was the class? I called and asked today, and the guy was giving me cryptic answers like they weren’t allowed to say 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your profile says you are located in NC.

Whereabout?

I took the class yesterday at Youngsville Gun Club with Sean. Well organized, moved right along, and Sean is an experienced LE officer and instructor for LE and outside classes. There were 11 students in the class of all ages and experience.

I selected YGC because they were convenient to me, but can now recommend the course and location.

Once you're past CCW, D Bramble is an excellent civilian instructor.

I've trained with different LE and .mil instructors... but the parameters for engagement are different for civilians vs LE/mil.

There is a LOT of stuff that isn't covered with general firearms courses geared toward or foundation based toward a shooting in uniform.

My wife and I took our classes through Fuquay Guns about a year ago. The instructor was a former sherrif's deputy. We felt the class was well organized. The reason the people at the store can;t really say where the class is held is because it's a private property. It was mentioned that they are developing a piece of property out near the Harris Nuke plant, but I don;t know if that's come to fruition.

The CCW class is mostly about the laws. The live fire portion is simple enough that if you can't pass it, you need some training on shooting a pistol. It won't prepare you for reacting to a situation where you have to use your weapon for self defense. My wife and I took this course about 10 years ago when we first started carrying when we lived in PA. https://intuitiveshooting.com/courses/combat-focus-shooting-and-advanced-pistol-handling/
And yes, we each shot a case and a half over 3 days. My wife's kydex holster started melting from the heat of her gun
