While attending a long range shooting class and during sometimes during training at long range. I've noticed that my trigger finger get exhausted to the point where I can no longer break the wall of my rifle without jerking the rifle. This is after around 40-60 rounds on an 5 pound trigger.
The rifle I use is a 1950 Yugo M48 in normal configuration with a scope. It normally happens when I'm shooting at long range 800-1200 yards (1260 is my longest shot on a torso sized target)
Is this normal given this type of shooting is quite different from just picking at the range. Almost like using a different types of muscles in a way?
I've since changed it out to a 2lb trigger and I no longer get that worn out feeling.
Just wanted to ask since my buddy gives me a hard time and says I'm weak and have baby hands. Buy its hard to explain that it's a different type of shooting than the normal picking at 75 yards he normally does.
What do you guys think is he right? Or is my experience a normal thing?
Thanks.
