Truly Ironman

Wonder if he's got any sort of exoskeleton underneath the shirt to help, Im sure it's a strain on his arms
But freaking cool

Olympic style ring gymnasts have incredible amounts of upper body control.

I think this video is shopped/chopped all up. But watch some of those humans. They could handle that kind of force easy

Took some balls to fly that thing out over water. Can’t be easy to ditch all that gear.

Well, the other option for test crashes is over land. It occurred to me that he couldn't wave back at the people in the boat. Certianly cool, but maybe limited in what you can do?

And that’s the reason they wouldn’t accept me into test pilot academy. I’d remember not to wave just as I was actually doing it, causing a sudden out of control loop-de-loop, snaking me against the water several times before plummeting me to the bottom. My luck, the engines would continue to burn for a few seconds which would send me careening through Spongebob’s living room.

where did the camera angles come from? from one side to the other.. in 'flight' ?

Likely a GoPro on a mount that moves. I dont know what sort of boom mount they use, but there is software that will easily, and quickly, 'erase' the boom from the footage

I mostly impressed that he was able to keep that beret on his head the whole time.

I remember seeing that jetpack on Outrageous Acts of Science a while back. Way cool...

We've come a long way since the first flying platform in 1955

There are cameras that know where their "arm" is and can filter it out. Same magic that allows back-up cameras on vehicles to eliminate the trailer you're pulling. Or more naturally, the same magic that makes your hand disappear when it gets too close to your face.

Twirly thing behind his head. You can see a foot of the the cable looking thing. That's not an antenna

Camera was definitely mountd on him. If look at the first second of the video you will see a flag shown on the thing behind his head.

You can see the shadow of the camera here on his shoulder. At 1:17 you will see the shadow of it on his head.

It looks like it’s limited in altitude.

I couldn’t fly it then. I’d never come back down! Jus sayin....
I’ll give you the benefit of any doubt here...until those little model airplane jet engines go “poof poof sputter sputter” and stop putting out their little hot dog cooker flames! Then it’s a matter of how fast you can flap your arms!
