Yeah, that's my complaint about the Harbor Freight one I own. It makes it a chore to clean the baffles in my Obsidian.Don’t buy the small Hornady, the timer maxes out at 480sec so you have to keep an eye on it to constantly reset the timer every 8min. Otherwise it works well.
Which model(s) of the Branson do you recommend? What solution do you use?If you can source a good, used Branson unit from a dental office, grab it. They have much more powerful transducers than the Lyman units.
I currently have three operational and one project ultrasonic cleaners. A Lyman is one of the three, and it no longer gets used in favor of the Branson Unit.
To put things into perspective, these 1994 vintage AWC Systems Technology 9mm stainless steel suppressor baffles have had well over 100K rounds through them, sometimes caked to the point where the entire suppressor had to be soaked for a day or more in CLP before they could be removed from the tube. The inexpensive Lyman type ultrasonic cleaners never would get them fully clean, but the Branson unit does.

Do you dilute with water or just pure carbon killer? I need to get a good solutions for my rimfire baffles. I went WAY to long without a cleaning and these things are caked in carbon and lead.Unfortunately the tag is gone from my Branson; but an equivalent unit is the Quantrex 140H from L&R Ultrasonics.
I've currently using Slip 2000 Carbon Killer for a solution.
Thanks for the suggestion. Cleaning gun parts and potential small engine carburetor is intended use.I ordered this one from Amazon on Christmas Day, 2020. It was $80 then and probably goes on sale often. I’ve used it a few times on suppressor baffles/pistons and BCGs. It works well for me.
This one is plenty big for most gun parts. I don’t remember what the max time setting is but it hasn’t been an issue. It has a heater but I normally have just heated my water up in the microwave and dumped it in with a little “Purple Power”.
