So my neighbours are doing the thing again where they let their semi aggressive dogs run loose on and off. I don't want to shoot a hole in a pooch, even ones as annoying as these, so I decided to try an alternative when it went on sale.

It's a little 4 shot 50cal ball pistol. It can be loaded with pepper balls, hard rubber balls, practice powder balls or any of the exotic ammo folks cook up for it, as long as it's a ball. I keep it loaded with two rubber balls, then two pepper balls.

Accuracy was surprisingly decent for what is basically a pocket sized paintball gun. I was able to nail a paper plate at about 12-15 yards no problem using the small fixed sights.

The powder balls (and so likely also the pepper balls) burst well and give off what looks to be an 18" cloud of their contents. More than enough to cover the nose and mouth of a target if hit in the chest.

It's louder than I expected and the rubber balls punch through multiple layers of Amazon box no problems. You get about 30 shots from the 8g CO2 canister and they make a full size handgun model that takes the more common 12g canister.

Overall I'm pretty impressed since I got the pistol, some CO2, 10rds powder ammo and 10rds pepper ammo for $80 on sale (normal price is around $100). It should definitely make a dog think twice from either the rubber ball or the pepper.

There's a full size pistol that holds 6rds (and aftermarket attachments to hold a full reload for it underbarrel like a paintball hopper) and they have a variety of 6 shot chunky revolvers that use a quick change disc magazine in either 50 or 68 calibre. The revolver can shoot paintball, but they aren't functional in the tube mag of the semi autos. Heck they make a full size pump shotgun version.
