I'm not a fan of Trump, but Biden is embarrassing the nation. Hopefully the left cannibalizing itself will save us from four more years (or however long that fossils got) of Biden.

Did you catch the press conference yesterday. Per Biden in 2024, "In America, we respect the right to protest, the right for them to express that. But it doesn't mean anything goes. It needs to be done without violence, without destruction, without hate and within the law." Where was this explanation in 2020?

Those protests were used against Trump. So that was acceptable.

These protests are hurting Biden. That is unacceptable.

Which is why we are losing the empire. Why do we even acknowledge the communist as legitimate? A good dose of hickory shampoo, anyone on a student visa deported immediately and expulsion for the rest. Want to protest fine, destroy property, defy school and police and assault people. Nope your done.
 
During my career, I visited literally countless countries. It got to the point where the added pages in my passport made it thick like a phone book.

With that travel experience, I’m trying to imagine which of those countries would have allowed me to remain (in some, perhaps remain ALIVE) while I publicly protested against their government and shouted, “Death to (insert relevant country name)”. 😳

I support their right to protest, but like most rights, doing so has consequences. That the protestors failed to anticipate the consequences of their actions may be the most valuable lesson they’ve learned at Columbia. Repeating a few classes or a semester seems like a reasonable price.

I still don't understand the exact physics of "crack the whip" resulting in kids being flung so much faster than kids can actually move.
And the rules of "smear the q*" were never clear either - just don't be the q* with the ball. Note that the name alone is "triggering" now.

The only time I got stabbed on the playground was playing kickball. Catholic school.

I remember catholic school kickball. I think they had us play that instead of baseball/soft ball because they didn't want bats on the playground. Little did they know Sean McCaffery could throw a red rubber ball so hard it'd break your nose. He took out several of the weaker boys chucking that thing.

My 17 year old just finished her 1st semester of college and is home for a few months. She has a volleyball scholarship, and woke up at 4:30 AM so she could eat and be at the gym to lift every day. Then practice afterwards. Then classes the rest of the day.

Tonight she told me she thinks kids have lost their minds and have gone lunatic is because we didn’t allow bullying on the playground for her generation. She thinks most of the lunatics could have been fixed or saved by a little tough peer pressure. They would have stayed closer to cultural norms and not gone off the deep end. I laughed my ass off and said you may be right.

The entire younger generation is not lost. My oldest daughter and her friends all either working full time or pursuing advanced degrees or both. There is a glimmer of hope out there.

I’ll report back on ‘weak-ass’ after I get the oldest’s boyfriend up to the mountains for some tree work.

We played it without a ball.
Two lines of kids about 25’ apart, arms linked.
One would call out a player from the other side, that player would charge the line and attempt to break through.
I don’t remember what happened after that.
Would have made a great game for the movie “squid game”

I do understand that there was a version where a played took a ball when called out and tried to throw it past the other line, but never played it.

Not sure she is a genius, she’s some kind of smart. Now if only she had the scholastic work ethic the older one has. Or maybe she is smart enough she doesn;t need it. We shall see.

We played dodge rock. Don't get me started on smear the queer and crack the whip lol. I died five times when I was a kid.

And all of that was just playground normalcy, and it toughened us up. Add in all of the off-color, your-mama, ethnic and racial teasing and jokes. We didn't develop a thick skin, we developed a shell, a barrier. We grew up with Archie Bunker, George Jefferson, Fred Sanford, Blazing Saddles. Our parents knew when to tear up our asses, and when to leave us alone. Our parents were children of the Great Depression and WW2.

Yeah, us and them, we ain't the same.
