Unconverted Saiga 7.62x39 value

New? Used? Box and accessories included? Round count? Bullet guide installed? That's also the non-dimpled version, which is less desirable to a lot of shooters.

Without knowing particulars, I'd list it for $1,200 and be ready to haggle.

Used, less than 300 rounds through it. No box and only the magazine in it. Not sure about the bullet guide.

If you take off the top cover and remove the bolt and carrier, you'll have a clear view of the front trunnion (some are round, some are flat). You will see if there is a guide installed or not. If there is a guide, feel free to snap a photo and share with the crew here. Some Bubbas don't install the guide on these guns properly, which can cause extra work for new owners.

I will take a look when I get back in town. Thanks

It having a slab side receiver, so no mag well dimples will really hurt the value to be honest. Most guys looking for Saigas now want them to do like AK-74M, AK-103/4, or AK-101/2 conversions and those all have mag well dimples.
You'd be lucky to get a grand for it. Closer to 850 is what I'd expect. I see these non mag well dimple versions sit for a really long time in most places they are for sale.

People think these things are worth gold because they aren't imported but if it something you immediately have to pour money into a lot of guys back away

Thinking of selling a Saiga but values are everywhere. What can I expect if I do list it. I may back out lol.

This might be a stupid question so if it is I apologize ahead of time but I have never owned a AK with this type receiver. But you able to even put a pistol grip on this rifle like a traditional AK-47 with a stock or underfolder stock with the trigger so far back on the receiver? Or do they make a pistol grip and buttstock combo setup for this particular rifle?

For a traditional AK pistol grip and trigger you have to move the trigger, trigger guard and all that forward. Pistol grip bolts in where trigger currently is. Never done a conversion on one of these so idk if rear trunnion has to be modified or not. The Saiga 12 conversion is pretty straight forward.

Use to be company’s that sold a stock/pistol grip combo that will go on as is but it looks terrible IMO. Not sure if those are still around or not.

Thanks for the info on that. I was just looking at the gun and thinking if I bought one like it and wanted to change the stock to a thumbhole stock or pistol grip with folding stock how would I be able to do that? It sounds like to much to deal with for me to do it but I'm not setup for building or rebuilding AK's like some of the other more experienced AK guys here so they can probably do that with no problem at all.

Had one of those years ago. Did the full conversion. Even converted, It sold for about $400. I can't imagine spending 1000 on one.

The conversion isn't difficult to do, but you'll have to do some drilling and dremmel work on the gun. If you haven't installed a feed ramp in the front trunnion to use standard AK mags, you'll need to. Involves drilling and tapping.
