I'm camping in a union county park this weekend. Just got set up about an hour and a half ago.

I'm looking through their welcome, now here's the rules, package and notice I can't possess a firearm, unless I'm LE, nor can I have alcoholic beverages, per county ordinance.

What kinda anti-freedom hell hole have I landed in?

I guess I'm lucky I left my Glock near the whiskey cabinet when I left the house. Whew!
 
At least you won’t accidentally shoot yourself while drunk. 🤓

I'm sure it's an add on charge.

First, they catch me drowning a cricket in their precious NC water without Roy's permission, then they search my truck and camper.

I'm not driving all the way back to SC just to test them. I'll just sit here sober and defenseless.

I just looked up the Mecklenburg county Parks and Rec rules. It also states that possession of firearms is prohibited in parks and Greenway but I know that it is legal to CC with a permit on Greenway and in parks except for athletic fields.

First issue is you're in UNION County.
Second issue is it's in NC.

Why do you think this NC born old man lives in SC?
 
We used to fish a lot of parks and state campgrounds (Kerr Lake comes to mind) and most of the rules were there to get rid of butt wipes who got out of hand. We always had a dink or two (plastic cups) and the park gestapo never bothered us. Stay cool, enjoy yourself, and no one will bother you.

You are free to legally CC. Local ordinances cannot supersede state law.

lots of counties just post what they want because nobody calls them on it and they think it will cause people to pay attention to the sign...
back up in MI our gun group had a resident lawyer who would send nasty letters and threaten to sue the city/county due to preemption. it worked pretty well sometimes.

Like the signs on the doors , what they don't know won't hurt them and if they find out
what difference will it make.

Site 61 is empty right now and I told my wife I was going to tell you to get on down here, but I see the Vogels will be there today through Sunday.

And I forgot to mention that this is the 2nd time a kid has hit the front of our truck on their bicycle. I had forgotten about the 1st time it happened, until it happened again yesterday morning.

Probably 9 or 10 year old girl comes hauling butt down the road. I pointed her out to my wife by saying, "That girl is flying."

She hit the speed hump, went into a "tank slapper," then target fixated on the truck.

Bam! She actually hit the truck hard enough to rock it.

It knocked the breath out of her, but she was okay.

The carnage...

It looks like my site will be vacant today, with whomever has it reserved showing up tomorrow.

I tried to drag my feet so I could at least meet you, but home started calling and we finally pulled out around 1. Mr. Vogel was still cleaning the acorns off his roof with a leaf blower.
