Unpin & Weld a Muzzle device?

I have a factory 16" Sig MPX barrel that I would like mount a suppressor to. Is it possible to remove the factory pinned and welded flash hider? I'm in the process of subitting the Form 1 to SBR it.

Or you could take your chances with a Dremel and a chisel.

Is it drilled all the way through, or is the weld only visible on one side? If both, it's not hard to do. If only one side, it's a bit more challenging.

If you are going to cut or replace the barrel to SBR it, then I would save the money and only pay to have the barrel shortened.
