Video: 45/70 Destruction from IV8888

Last time I shot one was at a clay laying on the berm. It looked like the round turned the berm inside out and sucked the clay into the ground.
 
Me have, me like. My brother just picked up one and found some Fortscott tumbling upon impact ammunition that he says shoots wonderfully in his rifle. when things were hard to fins a year or so ago and all the ammo was gone except the 45/70 I tried to put enough away to hunt with for a year or two. I never thought this round would be so popular again.
 
The .45-70 can be loaded from puff 300gr rounds that up to 500gr dangerous game rounds … as long as the firearm is built to take the pressure. You can find firearms from a single shot Quigley type Sharps to a lever repeater in .45-70. It kinda sorta is like a 12 ga shotgun in its wide load range … and fun as all get out to shoot!

The round can have a steep trajectory, but he could have backed up more than 10’
 
Always wanted a 45-70. Just never pulled the trigger on buying one.
 
I was set to sell my 2001 1895CB JM 45-70 a week or so ago. Had an ad out briefly.
But every time I bring it outta the safe I can't let it go.. Just too damn sexy.
Kinda like one of those hotazz lil girlfriends from wayyyy back. Not really of much real use, fun to play with and verrrry hard ta let go of..
This one's wayyyy less trouble, tho'.. :cool:
