Visitors to Battery Oaks

Today a bench rest Champ came to test some ammo. He is a record holder at 300 yards and meters in the hunting benchrest game. Michael Clayton. Interesting.
Also Randall came and wired up the Bunkhouse so that it now has proper heat and air from a central unit. Pretty damned nice!
Work on the new Outdoor Kitchen is progressing nicely. Hoping to be operational by the @Stick Man Showdown for all members on the fine art of staying in one piece when out and about in the Public.
The Wizard has claimed a few more victims and the new and improved version is really slick.
Not sure who'll be here tomorrow but You are welcome!!

Michael Clayton...does he own a jewelry store in MB....if so my brother and I went to high school together and in touch with each other.....just curious...

Well, yet another weekend I didn't make it down there... but my wife and I did get her cousin out for dinner and drinks yesterday, then over for voting, shooting, and drinking today. He's at Bragg and juuust injured enough be on duty but not able to be sent overseas with all his buddies in the barracks. bummer.
So we walked out of the early voting place saying "4 more beers" and me giving thumbs up to the republican info booth in the parking lot, then shot steel targets using suppressed pistols, carbines, and a garand before drinking a few beers and eating finger foods wifey made for us. Not my cheapest weekend, but it was worth it.
So I wasn't down there, but I was keeping the spirit alive up here.

If all works out we’ll be there for church next Sunday
Wonderful news!!! The sermon will be on Shooting!!!! I just noticed that there were 10 "likes" for the other post. Every One from people that have visited here and know first hand what a time we have, sometimes doing Nothing. I look forward to seeing all Alumni and new visitors in the comin weeks as the weather calms down a bit. It was grand today.

I hope the pictures and videos that were taken today get posted soon. There was some amazing shooting especially by Triple T. One of the most amazing Beginner shooters I've witness in at least 40 years of shooting. She can shoot anything. Never saw her miss a target today and I know she shot semis and revolvers and at least 4 different calibers.

@Triple T is an example of what somebody can accomplish in a short time with the right attitude. On one stretch today she emptied an 18 shot 9 mm and Never missed a plate! As @Etruett above said, revolvers and autos no matter what caliber. The amazing thing is she doesn't know what difficult tasks she is completing. Today she shot .38 S&Ws, .22 S&Ws, 9mm Canik, .22 Glock, 1911 .45, two ARs [having never held one before], all like a seasoned shooter.
She is a great addition and the other women love her!
She Cleaned the Wizard 3 rimes on the required hits all in the mid 3 second range. She'll get that time down and be sporting a Wizard shirt before long.

I can’t thank you enough. I’m so lucky to be learning from the best and given the chance!!

why is she holding that ar like that? that's now how they're supposed to be held!

Ugh I can’t get videos up
that's okay dear, it happens to everybody.
last i checked the forum wouldn't allow direct uploading of videos, you had to link to embed them. easiest thing might be to use a "make a gif from a video" site and then past in the gif.

That sucks. And what do u suggest I do differently holding the ar?

There’s a very serious member here with lots of very nice guns. The first time I saw him shoot was with one of my older all-metal Smith & Wesson pistols. I immediately noticed his unusual grip of the gun. I believe it’s considered a somewhat outdated hold. When I saw how he performed with the gun I realized holding the gun is all about what works for you. ;)

hey, if it's working for you, it's working for you. most people reach that support hand out a bit to grip the handguard instead of the magazine well. It adds stability and helps you lock on when moving from target to target - BUT there are plenty of good shooters who do just fine holding it the way you are, especially on short barreled versions like you had there.

@Jeppo did you also have to view the source of the giphy page to find the right gif url, then manually link it with img /img tags here, or is there an easier way that i have overlooked?
I suppose i could have just saved it and uploaded it... i complicate things.

I’m so used to other social media platforms that not being able to do everything I can do elsewhere kinda trips me up lol 🤷🏼‍♀️

that may be by design. there's not a lot of love for instatwitface around here.

Best I remember, I clicked her link, then copy link, then pasted the GIF link in as a photo.

She is an incredible shooter! She hasn't been at it long, and wow!
I hope I'm there on the day she gets her Wizard shirt...that's going to be really sweet!

Will the Wizard shirt be wet? Do you have any white ones?
