Just wanted to say that the diamondback HD 10x40s that I got for the cruise are fabulous. This is the first use of them and once I got them adjusted, they are clear and sharp. Using binos with my eye glasses is usually pain but not with these. Weight-wise they are light enough that carrying them on an extended hike today was no issue. These must be the best deal on the planet.

Good to know. I just started looking for a pair for multi use. I was looking at the Viper HDs but was wondering if I could get away with something more reasonably priced.

I bought the same model but in 8x a couple of years ago. I compared them to the next step up in the Vortex line ($100 more) in the store (Academy) by reading print, etc. on the other side of the store and could not tell the difference, so I bought the diamondback. No complaints, clear and sharp.

Agreed. I have 3 Diamondback 8x & 10x, 28 & 32mm, at least 1 is HD and I don’t see much difference between them other than the added brightness of the 32mm vs 28mm. I’d like to get a 40mm set but I have a Steiner 42mm set already.

Yeah, I will likely go 8x42 since will mostly be using them in the backyard under 100 yds. I know many people say the Vipers are better in low light which would only matter to me if I was only hunting with them. So don't know if it's worth 2x the cost.

I've had the Diamondback 8x for a few years now. Great set of binos.

I really like the Vortex stuff and have a lot of it. It's probably some of the best glass for the price point. I've only ever had one warranty issue and that was my fault. Broke the lens cap on a Strike Eagle. They sent me a new one along with a hat and stickers.

I always recommend to sign up for emails from aaoptics.com for restock alerts. I've saved hundreds buying from them.

Will definitely sign up. I’ve only heard good things about vortex CS. Rare these days.
